• The internet explorer is the best browser for online passport registration. Open the link passport.gov.in and choose your nearest PSK.
• If you do not have an user account in Indian passport seva portal, then go for user registration with your valid email id. Click the passport seva  portal image below to view large image.

• You will get a link in your email id, that link will take you to passport portal user id input page. Enter your user id then your password. then your passport user account will open.
• Now you will see your home page where, you have to click on the link "apply for fresh passport". Click the tatkal passport application image below to view large image.

• Then you will get two alternative option for passport registration. These are:

1. Online registration(internet connection required).
2. Offline registration through pdf file(download the pdf file and fill the form without internet connection).

• Select one of the above link to register for Tatkal passport.
• The offline registration through pdf file is a better alternative for Tatkal registration. Because you can recheck and correct your errors while your registration process. After completion of all registration steps through pdf file you will need to upload the completely filled form.

Documents required for Tatkal Fresh passport application

• The essential documents you need to collect for Fresh Tatkal passport registration are Annexure I and Annexure F

1. Annexure F- Speciman verification certificate (duplicate copy required) with attached passport size photograph. This is needed to be attested by an issuing officer with his /her signature and stamp partially on passport photo and on the form also.
   
   
   
2.  Annexure I-  Affidavit form written on a non-judicial stamp paper and attested by public notary. one original and another attested copy is required for Tatkal passport application only.
   

• The documents required for proof of address for Tatkal passport application such as Electricity bill, water bill, voter identity card etc. Rather than these address proof you can take other id proof such as shown in the image below. click on the image.

• Birth certificate is required for those person who has taken birth after 26/061989, The birth certificate should be issued by a Municipal Authority or any office authorized to issue Birth and Death Certificate by the Registrar of Births & Deaths.
